We're sorta Quakers. Founders and friends, John and Craig, were college roommates at Penn State in the 80's, coming together from east and west coast, to start Quaker Coffee. John and Craig bought the 'Best of Philly" and 'Best of the Main Line" Irish Bread Shoppe in 2004 and rise every morning to make magic. At Quaker Coffee, we're also religious--religious about fresh baked products you yearn for, and coffee you'd walk a mile for: a 'West Coast' Arabica roast where beans are never burnt or bitter. It all started with two college friends, religious about beans, and religious about baking.

After Penn State, Wall Street banking, Columbia Business School, and ten years in technology marketing, John tossed it all to start Quaker Coffee with his friend of two decades. John's happiest buying the best beans, creating award-winning scones, and giving some larger coffee chains pause with the great stuff of Quaker Coffee.

Craig Schmitt - Founder & VP of Store Dvelopment
If you've seen Citizen's Bank Ballpark, home of the Phillies - you've seen Craig's handiwork. Craig was the project architect for the Phillies' new stadium and has worked on PNC Park for the Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as schools, sports stadiums, retail and industrial buildings from L.A. to PA. Walk into Quaker Coffee, and you'll see his handiwork.
